One UI 9 (Android 17) starts rolling out to Galaxy A56, A36, A37 and A27: Korea first, the rest within days to weeks

(Android Headlines) |

If you do not own an S or a Z, your turn has come. Samsung has started the stable One UI 9 rollout, based on Android 17, for the Galaxy A56, A36, A37 and A27, one day after the S23, Z Fold5 and Z Flip5. As usual, South Korea goes first.
Details
| Galaxy A27 | Build A276KKSU3BZIF, South Korea |
|---|---|
| Galaxy A37 | Build A376NKSU3BZI6, South Korea |
| Galaxy A56 | A566SKSUADZJ1 for the Korean Quantum 6 variant (Android Headlines) |
| Galaxy A36 | A366NKSU9DZIF; beta programme closed (SamMobile) |
| What is new | Deeper Quick Panel customisation, refreshed system apps and notification cards, smoother transitions |
| Not included | Galaxy AI features are not available on this tier |
| Gulf | No date announced; 9to5Google says Samsung usually widens the rollout within a day or two, Android Headlines says "over the next couple of weeks" |
Why it matters
The A56 and A36 are among the most common phones in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, and this is their first major OS update. Check Settings → Software update with the phone on a charger and Wi-Fi. If nothing shows yet, that is normal: Gulf firmware (XSG and KSA) usually lands a few days after Korea.
My take
The update itself is not revolutionary; the speed is the story. This year Samsung is delivering the new Android to mid-rangers in roughly the same week as its older flagships, something we could only dream of two years ago. What bothers me is Galaxy AI staying exclusive to pricier phones when the A56’s chip can handle most of the basic features.
