Android Headlines built a dummy from the CAD files it leaked in August and compared it with the S26 Ultra and iPhone 18 Pro: 163.76×78.25×7.97mm (current: 163.6×78.1×7.9), a two-layer horizontal camera bar with three cameras instead of four, and S26 Ultra cases that will not fit. The same day, SamMobile reported that the S27 Pro and S27 Ultra get an upgraded Privacy Display and a brighter screen, while the S27 and S27+ go without. All of it is unconfirmed until Samsung’s early-2027 announcement.

A tipster on X (via GSMArena and Gulf News) says the 2027 Galaxy Z Fold9 brings back the inner under-display camera Samsung used from Fold3 to Fold6 and dropped on Fold7, alongside major internal changes and roughly the same thickness. The same source talks about 3.9mm unfolded and 7.9mm folded. Single source, unconfirmed.

Samsung launched the W27, its annual China-only luxury edition of the big foldable: the same hardware as the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra (8-inch inner and 6.5-inch cover displays, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy, 16GB RAM, 200MP, 5,000mAh) with a gold frame and hinge, red and blue colourways, Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3 on both sides and direct satellite connectivity. CNY 18,999 for 512GB and 21,999 for 1TB.

The same day, the update began reaching the Galaxy S23, Z Fold5 and Z Flip5 in the US.

Rated capacities from the Chinese 3C filing: 5,534mAh for the Ultra and 5,087mAh for the Pro, roughly 5,700 and 5,200 typical, a jump from 5,000mAh in the S26 Ultra, but charging stays at 60W.

Korean leaker Lanzuk says the Galaxy S27 series is on schedule for January 2027, "February at the latest", after the S26 slipped to early March this year. The big decisions are made for the S27 and S27+, but Samsung has not settled whether the Pro and Ultra move to LPDDR6 and UFS 5, because the memory market "heated up more than expected" and that would raise cost and price. The Ultra chip is still between the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 and the Exynos 2700.

A source close to Nokia Power User says Samsung is rebuilding One UI 10 from its design philosophy up: one contextual view combining calendar, location and conversations instead of hopping between apps, fewer taps and hidden menus, and smoother handoffs between phone, tablet and watch. Ice Universe confirmed via an independent source that the changes are "unprecedented" and arrive with the Fold9 (mid-2027). The Galaxy OS name is a separate, unconfirmed rumour, and Samsung has not commented.

Qualcomm denies Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 "overheating" after a report that the Galaxy S27 Ultra may switch to Exynos 2700

A Korean report said Samsung’s internal Galaxy S27 Ultra tests showed the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 exceeding thermal limits and throttling, putting the Exynos 2700 on the table. Qualcomm answered within a day: "recent reporting about thermal issues is inaccurate", and its CMO said there are no systemic thermal issues with the chip.
