Amazon has officially joined the "always-listening device" race. Bee Frontier is a small module you wear on a silicone band or clip to a shirt; Bee Eclipse is a credit-card-sized puck that magnetically attaches to any Qi2 or MagSafe phone. Both listen to your conversations and hand back summaries, to-dos and calendar items in the app.

Privacy
Amazon says audio is processed in real time and deleted, never stored, and transcripts are encrypted with keys your device creates that Amazon itself cannot open ("Bee Private Compute", built on AWS Nitro). There is a button and an indicator light, plus auto-off after 5 or 15 minutes of silence. Engadget notes the Eclipse looks like a battery pack, so people around you will not know it is recording.
Why it matters
Pricing undercuts Plaud Note ($159) and Pocket ($129) by a wide margin, and if the Alexa+ tie-in delivers, Amazon is now cheaper than OpenAI and Meta in this category. For the Gulf, though: no countries named, no Arabic support announced, and Alexa+ itself has not reached us, so for now this is news to follow, not to buy.
My take
Strong idea, right price, but the problem is not technical: recording everyone who talks to you without real consent is socially unacceptable here, and some countries in the region treat it as an offence. Amazon says the device "asks permission" on calls, but there is no permission prompt in a majlis. I will wait for an Arabic-capable version with clear rules before judging.
