iOS 27 eats up to 16GB for Apple Intelligence, even if you never use it; here is the trick that gets the space back

Users report Apple Intelligence reserving 9 to 16GB after the iOS 27 update, even in countries where it does not work. Apple officially says «up to 8GB» for most devices and «up to 14GB» for iPhone 17 Pro, Air and Duo. Turning the feature off does not free the space; the workaround doing the rounds is switching Siri to an unsupported English such as South African, which GSMArena tested successfully.
