A week after its India launch, vivo announced yesterday that the V80 is heading to Southeast Asia, the Middle East and other regions, with the usual note that pricing, availability and specs "vary by local market". No Gulf date or price yet, but the phone itself is clear: a mid-ranger betting on battery and camera.

Why it matters
The V series is sold officially in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, and "Middle East" is named in vivo’s announcement, so expect the V80 at the official distributors and electronics chains within weeks. Two things to check before buying: the 128GB model uses slower UFS 3.1, and every model has just 8GB RAM, so get 256GB if you can.
My take
vivo understands this market: a huge battery, a real telephoto and a 50MP selfie camera are the three things most people here ask about. But 8GB RAM in 2026 under a heavy OriginOS is not reassuring long term, and an 8MP ultrawide is a step back. Under AED 2,000 for the 256GB model in the UAE it is one of the strongest mid-rangers of the year.
